iPhone 6S Unlock request

I have an iPhone 6S which I purchased from BM and activated over a year ago.  I am upgrading to an iPhone 7 and want to unlock my iPhone 6S before I sell it.  I have contacted BM support multiple times and been told that the unlock code is 000000 or I need to contact Apple for this request.  My understanding is that a carrier locked iPhone must be unlocked by the carrier (it registers the unlock with Apple). 

 

Has anyone succesfullly had BM unlock an iPhone purchased from BM since Feb 2015 (when the new unlock policy went into effect)?

How long does it usually take for an iPhone to be unlocked after initial request? My phone number is already ported.

Hi, Laceevander! Thanks for contacting us. To unlock your device you would need to meet some requirements. The device must be on in the Sprint coverage area with the Boost SIM card in it. The person requesting the device to be unlocked must be a current or former customer or an individual owner who can provide the phone number and pin code for the account last associated with the device. The device has not been reported as lost or stolen. The device has been activated at least 12 months and a payment has been made within the last 90 days of that 12-month activation.

I have already spoken with someone and they said they would put in the request to unlock it. My concern is, I can’t use my phone at all because it won’t get past the SIM NOT SUPPORTED page. My phone number is already ported with Verizon so need it to be unlocked ASAP.
