Used iPhone 7 from Sprint

I got a new-to-me iPhone 7 on Sprint network. I went thru the activation process online and switched out the sim card from my old phone (iPhone 5) and restored network settings like the Virgin Mobile website suggested. I synced it to my computer to get all my old apps and whatnot onto the phone, but I have been unable to actually get service. After researching online, I've found that the phone should be unlocked (Sprint unlocks 2015 and later phones automatically) and I shouldn't have an issue with that. Suggestions on how to get it connected to the Virgin Mobile Network??
