Coolpad surf won't connect to my devices

I have a Coolpad surf wireless hotspot and it won't connect to the internet and says I haven't used any of the data and have had it for 10 days how can I fix this

Hello there Lridd850. Please follow these steps; Update your Coolpad SURF Data Profile.

  1. Access http://mobile.hotspot or http://192.168.128.1.
  2. Within the Web User Interface, go to Settings > Device > Software Updates.
  3. Click Update Profile to update.
    • Note: Do not remove the battery during Profile Updating. This may cause the Profile Update to fail.
  4. Also check for Firmware Update. If you still are having an issue then I will show you how to reset the device.

Purchased Coolpad Surf 4.5 hours ago.. salesperson told me that my password to connect devices was the last 9 numbers of the IMEI but that does not work I cannot get anyting to connect to my Coolpad this is EXTREMELY frustrating.I keep being told to go to HTTP://mobile hotspot..site does not exist.

Should the firmware update take more than 3 hours?

You must be connected to the hotspot device either via internet or USB connection to see your dashboard for that device when going to http://mobile.hotspot. This is very frustrating. I purchased two of the exact same coolpads and one works perfectly and the other doesn't work at all. Troubleshooting for the one that doesn't work has been challenging.
