Badges? Why do we need Badges?

If you've been around the community a bit, you may have noticed some members have icons or pictures next to their screen names. We've got the best customers, now that our customers are becoming members, we want you to know that we appreciate you. Those pictures and/or icons are called badges and you can earn them by participating in various activities including creating your first post; posting a certain number of times (appropriately, please, spammers will walk the plank!); or giving and receiving kudos. Badges make you stand out as someone who is helping us build our community by partipating and engaging with others. It's just one small way we can show how much we love you.

Have you posted your first question, given someone a kudos or answered someone else's question? If you have, you may have already received your first badge (you can check by clicking on your username at the top right corner of the screen and viewing your profile). Want to earn more? Look for ways to help those with questions, share things you've learned or show appreciation for a good answer or post by giving a kudos.  You can even join the Boost Customer or Boost Fan groups and we'll give you a badge just for joining.

As we build out our community we may add groups you can join to earn badges as well. Stay tuned for more info!
