Slowed data after paying bill

I haven't even finished my plan month and my data caps out, so I paid the bill just to reset the data speed so I can open a webpage and it always takes days to reset. This is stupid, I'm paying you for 'unlimited', Why is my data slowed to a crawl after I've given you MORE money when my plan hasn't even finished for the month?
