Ported number but not receiving text msgs

My husband ported his number from Bluegrass Cellular and everything works fine except that he does not receive any text messages from anyone that has Bluegrass Cellular. Can this be fixed?

Hi @Adriana28

 There are no outages in our network not allowing customers to receive/send sms from other carriers in this area. The other person should verify with the other carrier since services display that are good in your location.  You may send us a private message with the phone number and PIN of the account with the issue to check if there is any number blocked from sending sms to your husband.

Please follow these steps below:

  • From the home screen, tap Phone.
  • On the keypad, dial ##873283# and tap the Call button.
  • Tap OK. The handset will search for profile updates and install them.
  • Tap OK.
  • The profile is now updated.

If he's still having issues, let us know.

He performed the steps above and still does not receive text messages from Bluegrass cellular users. However, we realized that he does receive iMessages from them but not SMS or MMS.

@Adriana28 He may need to turn off the iMessage feature to receive SMS from non IPhone devices. - E.J.

We tried that and it did not work.

Both devices (sender and recipient) should turn off iMessage if both are IPhones. You may also provide us with your zip code and a cross street address to check the network in your area. -E.J.
