I am a victim of Identity theft and I am looking for some information to give to the police. How much information is needed when you apply for a pre-paid plan? Does the person have to just have your name or do they need to present Identification? I have sought help here and no one was able to help me. Someone opened a fraudulent account using my name and Boost Mobile will not give me any information or close the account as "anyone can have the same name." I really appreciate anyone that can help me gather info for the police.
Hi there, @JSol15. Sorry to hear that you're in this type of situation. Since we're a prepaid service provider, we don't ask any type of ID or SSN to open an account. The accounts can be opened online and the customer can put any name to it. We apologize for the inconveniences this may cause you.
