ZTE Hotspot says no service even after paying for $50 plan

I bought a ZTE hotspot last year on a trip and it worked great. Paid for the 1.5GB plan, used it all and havent used it since then. I left for another trip today, so I thought I could just add some more data to it nice and easy. I tried to log in to boost with the phone number that I used to create an account last year, but it could not find any record of it being used for an account (found out it deletes phone number and accounts after 60 days of innactivity). I paid for the data plan and the $10 reactivation fee (with a new account with a phone number they randomly gave me, which is actually an inactive number) and still am getting the no service message on the main screen. Ive restarted the device several times and it still isnt working. Pls help
