Payment only covering 2 weeks of service

I recently (around March 9th), made a payment to virgin mobile to reactivate my service, this was right before my Boost migration. In all the years I have been with Virgin mobile that meant my new payment date should have moved to April 9th.

After the Boost migration I checked my account, and it now shows a payment was made and applied 03/09 but that my payment date is tomorrow. It is showing my plan was in "service" during the days I was not in service between the month end date and new payment. (Payment date fell around when migration was supposed to happen so I held off in case of issues- migration didn't happen on date listed so i went ahead and paid Virgin for another month)

Why is my payment only good for ~2 weeks/ did the payment date not shift like it has for years any time there was a gap between end of month and payment?
