STOP TELEMARKETERS How-To

STOP TELEMARKETERS How-To

1. Prevention: When you agree to share your info in exchange for use of something (such as this CHATROOM to get HELP that the OWNER DOESN'T PROVIDE), you are sometimes forced to accept 3rd party contact, you can't use the svc. This goes for contests and e-list subscriptions of all kinds! When you are a member, you're limited to 3rd party contact AT BEST. You have no way of knowing your callers' true identities or how they got your info, so be prepared when you think you're getting something free.

2. DO NOT UNSUBSCRIBE! Phone, internet, or email because if you do, you're no longer a client. Your info still exists in the previous agreement owner's list, and where is goes from there is evident by what happens to your devices afterward. More contact from the distant 4th parties and beyond. The more concise your information had to be to get into the club, the more pestered by the dregs of humanity when you ditch the group.

2ND 2. NEVER RESPOND!
Report as SPAM on MrNumber and block on wireless device. make a filter in email to send mail direct to trash using key words (scan trash now and then to correct the filters).

If you get QUESTIONABLE text msgs, ONLY respond if you know the sender and NEVER click a link in a questionable text!! Use a computer to type in the web address in the WHO IS DATABASE to get more info to the FBI or FCC and help them protect you.

Good luck, everyone.
