Can I get a new sim on a much older phone with Boost?

My father lent me a galaxy note with no sim in case I had to make on emergency call or something. I have a job interview lined up a few days from now and the job will require a working smartphone to function. I'm looking into getting a prepaid plan if possible and haven't been able to glean any info from my research/their site.

Does anyone have experience getting a prepaid sim on an older model?
