Problem activating iphone 12 pro max

I went through activation at least 10 times and it keeps saying "it didn't go as smoothly as planned" or something ridiculous like it'll take up to 24 hours when its already been over 48hours. I got my phone on Thursday. Choose a plan with porting old number. Then tried with a new number and i get the same issue over and over again. Honestly, wasting my time.
