Service Plans

The list of service plan descriptions list unlimited talk and text.  They also list 'Mobile Hotspot' with what looks like a data figure (e.g. 12GB) on the more expensive plans.  What is 'Mobile Hotspot' supposed to mean?  I understand 'Mobile Hotspot' to be a function of the phone but what does it mean in the service plan context?

Hello! We appreciate you reaching out. A "mobile hotspot" gives your phone the ability to cast a wireless signal for other devices. For example, if you turn the hotspot on, you could connect your laptop to the internet. You can find more information about hotspots here: https://www.boostmobile.com/support/faq/plans-services/mobile-hotspot-add-on.html?id16=hotspot
