I'm replacing my Virgin Mobile phone with a used phone of the same model, Kyocera S2400. When I try to switch online, it says, "This device is not eligible to swap."

Okay, I've been expecting that to happen sooner or later. But what happens to the pre-paid balance remaining in the account? Can it be refunded? Or used to purchase a newer phone?
