Sim card has locked

Bought a verizon phone, and unlocked it. However when I put my boost mobile sim card in the verizon phone, it displays "sim card has locked. Power cycle the device and call customer service if issue continues" is there a way for me to unlock my sim card so I can use my new phone on my boost service?
