Data Roaming?

I've been a customer for over 10 years. I have had my Samsung S5 for approximately 3 years. Just last week I started to receive notifications informing me that I have lost data connectivity due to ROAMING and all data usage is stopped. This notification pop-up happened at my home and it has never happened before until 11/5/16. I have lived the same house and worked in the same building for 15+ year and it's ccontinues to happen. And when I try to turn on data roaming from the network settings it will not allow me to. Virgin mobile has disabled that feature. (FYI: Using Wi-Fi to submit this post @ home)

Hey User829

This happens when you're not using our towers to access the cellular network. When you're roaming, your device is trying to connect to another carrier's tower because our signal has dropped. 

We'd probably need to assess the coverage status in your area and check if there are any recent reports of service outages impacting your area.

My husband is also with Virgin and in the same room as me and his phone is not doing this. Just my Samsung galaxy J7, that I just bought Nov 28, 2016.

I'm having the exact same problem here. Just started yesterday 1/27/2017. I haven't moved or changed jobs recently yet still I am roaming in both of these locations when before this had never been an issue. It says I'm data roaming and that I have left my home network (which is NOT the case) with data roaming turned off, yet I cannot switch data roaming on. Virgin mobile has disallowed that feature. I need a fix to this because the proposition that I have to pay extra fees for using my phone at home or work is unacceptable.

It's really annoying!  I get this in Irvine Calif repeatably when  travel there from

Silicon Valley.  It makes me wonder if I DID something to disable romaing.  How to fix this?  The coverage maps indicate many areas I try this in within Irvine that have LTE

coverage fine.  Why?  Why?  Why?  Sometims I get restricted to 3G and something just NOTHING!
