Transferring from Metro to Boost
Do I need to disconnect my phone number from MetroPCS before I try porting it over to Boost? Also, if I paid for the phone re-activation fee and I don't want to go through the hassle of using my old number , could I get a new number for my new phone instead?

Hey there @JevL The service needs to be active with MetroPCS, in order for you to transfer the service. Yes, you can get a new number if you wish.

relative on Metro, would their numbers carry over too, or would it just be mine?

You're welcome. Only the number you're trying to transferring.

Hi. Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us. We are glad to assist you. To transfer your line, you need the phone number, PIN and account number. The line must be active with them, so we'd recommend you to not cancel it, or you would not be able to transfer your number. We hope this helps! ~AmyM25
